I want to share with you a few photos which my friend Frank sent to me several days ago.
His little town of Vandalia, Ohio (USA), is celebrating its 50th anniversary
as a city.
On this occasion, the city hired 5 sculptors to sculpt commemorative sculptures from
limestone, which took about 2 weeks.
He tracked the progress of the sculptures photographically and shared
with me this exciting artistic process.
One sculpture is a frog and another is a brain. The other two are abstract.
I find all the works of art very interesting, but my favorite one is BRAIN.
I think, in this way the artist wanted to pay homage to power of human brain.
It is amazing! – Having a little artistic talent you can enliven a block of limestone, which starts to tell you its new, picturesque story.
What, for example, does the stone frog(“ Bellwether”) want to tell me?
I imagine she says: “I’m looking for a road to the realm called Happiness and if I find it I’ll lead you to this beautiful place – follow me ! ”.
But I answer her that I have to find it myself. Otherwise I wouldn’t be able to use all the abundance and happiness…
